Jamie Morgan
Jamie Morgan is the iconic British photographer who gained recognition for his work with the groundbreaking Buffalo Collective. Morgan co-founded Buffalo along with legendary stylist Ray Petri, Buffalo was a group of like-minded creatives whose images are said to have changed the nature of modern fashion photography. The collective had a major exhibition at the V&A museum, accompanied by the release of the heavily referenced ‘Buffalo’ book.

Jamie's work can be characterized as contemporary portraiture. Inspired by classicism yet utterly modern in his choice of casting, cultural comment and fashion interpretation each image is a graphic statement which, although modern in feel, are also timeless. There are many general themes running throughout the work, yet each image has its own narrative. Jamie’s images often play with the mixing of gender and race, of street and high fashion, of young and old. The imagery is simultaneously romantic and aspirational while remaining edgy and street-credible, defining an image style - this is what gives these images their iconic status.

Jamie naturally progressed into filmmaking and has shot many celebrated music videos and fashion films. He has also directed three feature length documentaries and has won an award at Robert de Niro’s Tribeca Film Festival. He has always been involved in music having released two solo albums and co-writing Neneh Cherry’s number one hit “Buffalo Stance”. His passion for music has informed his film work and has always been an integral part of his film narratives.
Jamie continues to work as a top photographer and filmmaker, shooting for high-end fashion magazines like Arena homme+, Dazed, I-D magazine, British Vogue and CR fashion book whilst creating commercial photography for brands including: Givenchy, Martine Rose, Alexander Wang, Timberland, Nike, John Varvatos, Shoreditch Ski Club, Tommy Hilfiger & Ozwald Boateng etc.
